Kickability is an inclusive club run Aussie Rules program developed by AFL NSW/ACT for boys and girls with an intellectual disability aged (but not limited to) 9-16 years.
In March 2020, Penno aims to launch this program for all kids in the Sydney North region. The program features modified rules and encourages all ages participation. Training sessions are conducted by trained coaches with an understanding of the limitations that each child with a disability may encounter. The program focuses on development of movement skills in addition to teaching the basic skills of AFL. Parent participation is definitely encouraged!
All activities are non-contact simulated games in a safe, controlled and fun environment. Players are grouped according to ability and will take part in skill-based activities that aim to improve their fitness, resilience, coordination skills and team work.
The Kickability program at Penno Demons Juniors is a great pathway for playing our national sport, being part of a team and making new friends. Most importantly, Kickability is designed to be fun for everyone.
