This year at Penno, we are acknowledging R U OK Day Round on Sunday August 4th.

On Thursday 1st August at 6:30pm, we are holding a special event for the families of our club. We are inviting all Penno youth players and their parents to come down to a chat with PTSD – ‘Time for Change’ Simon Gillard.

Simon was a police officer for more than fifteen years, before being invalided out of the force with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). He is now an advocate for others with PTSD, depression, anxiety in the emergency services, military and the wider community.

Simon himself a husband and father, has great experience talking with teenagers and families about depression and anxiety and how that starting that conversation is key to us realising that we’re not alone.

This is a great opportunity for us as a club to come together and talk about something that often we’re a little bit scared to do, in a supportive and safe environment.

Did we mention that there is pizza?!
